Students enrolled with part-time status

Students enrolled with part-time status

Why do you enroll like a part-time student?

Free decision.

The student can decide to be a "part-time" student. In this case, the student can enroll stating that he will acquire over two academic years a number of CFU ECTS equal to an ordinary academic year. This means that students who decide for this kind of enrollment double the time to earn CFU ECTS /year.

An obligation imposed by an access rule.

The student must compulsorily enroll like a “part-time” student, because of an access rule

(see Operational Guidelines for the Admission to Second Cycle Master Degree Programmes in Engineering (2-year courses).

Who can apply for part-time student status?

Only current students may enroll as part-time students (Article 19 Regolamento Didattico di Ateneo, amended by D.R. 385 of 17/07/2015).

How it works

For the part-time student a year of course lasts two academic years, each academic years is named slot.

The part-time student will pay for each academic year (slot): the full the regional tuition fee – 120,00 € and the virtual stamp – 16,00 €, while the all-inclusive tuition fee will be 50% of what is due; the student will pay the full surcharges.

Example:

In 2019/20, John enrolls as a part-time student, for his first year of course.

So, John's first year will last two academic years.

FIRST SLOT 2019/20, John can take exams for a maximun of 30 CFU (ECTS) of the first year of the course (between 1st January 2020 and 31st December 2020, or in any case between the date of registration for a.a. 2019/20 and 31st December 2020);

SECOND SLOT 2020/21, John can take exams for others 30 CFU (ECTS) (between 1st January 2021 and 31st December 2021). Please note: the limit of 30 CFU (ECTS) includes the CFU (ECTS) that may not be taken in the first slot, which enter in the calculation of the CFU (ECTS) for the limit!

John, in 2021/22, will be free to choose if continue to be part-time student or to require to become a full-time student.

What happens if you exceed the limit CFU (ECTS) /SLOT?

If you exceed (more than 30) the limit of CFU (ECTS) registered, you cannot be anymore a part-time student. The student must, however, the student must communicate the exceed of this limit through the Helpdesk/ Ticketing service, in order to obtain the regularization of the administrative position and of the tuition fees.

If you exceed the limit in the first slot

John exceeds the limit of 30 CFU (ECTS) in the first Slot a.a. 2019/20.

In this case he will pay the additional half of the the all-inclusive tuition fee, 2019/20 will be his first year of course and 2020/21 will become his second year of course.

If you exceed the limit in the second slot

John exceeds the limit of 30 CFU (ECTS) in the second Slot a.a. 2020/21.

In this case he will pay the additional half of the the all-inclusive tuition fee, both for the first and the second slot, but 2019/20 will be its first year of course and 2020/21 will become its second year of course.
