How to apply to Politecnico di Bari

APPLY FOR A BACHELOR DEGREE IN POLITECNICO DI BARI

All our Bachelor Degree courses are taught in Italian Language. You need a good comprehension of Italian if you choose to apply for a Bachelor Degree. The list of Bachelor Degrees is available here.

STEP 1: PRE-EVALUATION PROCESS

If you have a foreign qualification, we need to evaluate your educational career in order to check if you meet the entry requirements for the course you have chosen.
For this purpose, you have to fill an online pre-evaluation request (link al form) to give us all the information and documents we need.
Required documents for the evaluation process, for a Bachelor-Degree seeker:

  • Passport or identity card;
  • Secondary school certificate;
  • An English Language certification;
  • Other documents you would like to submit for evaluation (CV, resume, letter of recommendation, etc.)

All the documents must be translated into Italian language.
For the pre-evaluation process, we do not need legalized translations. You will get an answer in about 8 weeks.
The step 1 (pre-evaluation process) is always possible: there are not defined periods to submit the request. If you are a non-EU candidate and you need the VISA, you should check the deadlines for pre-enrollment (step 2).

STEP 2: (NON-UE STUDENTS LIVING ABROAD and needing the VISA – “INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS”) PRE-ENROLLMENT REQUEST THROUGH THE ITALIAN DIPLOMATIC AUTHORITY

If you don’t need the VISA (for example you need to be evaluated because of a foreign qualification, but you duly reside in Italy), see the step 3 (Enrollment).
If you need the VISA, you should contact an Italian diplomatic authority in your home country to check the deadline to submit their request for pre-enrollment application, which is usually at the beginning of summer time.
This is necessary to obtain the VISA and to apply for the University. Our Government defines all the procedures and deadlines; you can find all the information on http://www.studiare-in-italia.it/studentistranieri/moduli/2017/Circolare2017_2018En.pdf.
If you are applying for an Italian-taught course, you have to pass an Italian Language test on September 1st. For English-language-taught courses, you do not need any Italian test or certificate.
If you are a candidate with foreign qualification and you regularly live in Italy (with Refugee Status, Asylum, Subsidiary Protection, Residency Permit, etc.) you don’t need to pre-enroll and to pass the Italian Language test, but you need to be evaluated anyway.

STEP 3: ENROLLMENT IN THE UNIVERSITY

You can enroll only if the previous steps have a positive outcome.
Enrollment procedures may be different depending on the specific course you choose. Anyway, the Enrollment Office of Politecnico di Bari will contact you through the contacts given in the pre-evaluation request and we will give you all the specific information.
Required documents for enrollment procedure:

  • The original copy of Secondary School Certificate
  • Dichiarazione di valore in loco, issued by the Italian authorities in the country where the qualification was awarded. Please note that the “Dichiarazione di Valore in Loco” should state that the student has completed at least 12 years of pre-university education.
  • Passport or identity card

You will provide these documents during the telematic enrollment process. Politecnico di Bari will let you know when and how to give the original documents.
