The agreement provides access to historical content and the possibility of publishing an unlimited number of articles in open access, exclusively on the subscribed journals

• Publication Costs: from 2025, coverage of publication expenses is guaranteed through an unlimited annual national fund.
• Eligible Articles: articles accepted for publication with an acceptance date within the relevant calendar year.
• Eligible Journals: exclusively the subscribed journals . The subscribed periodicals that, during the validity of the contract, transition from the hybrid model to the full Open Access (Gold OA) model will not be excluded, but will retain their full "eligibility"
• Eligible Article Types: Original paper, Review paper, Case Report, Short Communication.
• Excluded Journals: non-subscribed journals and Gold OA journals
• Corresponding author eligibility: only corresponding authors formally affiliated with the University on the date of article acceptance are eligible, provided that the institutional email address or the institution's name was used for submission.
• Autoarchiviazione post-print (Green OA):  per gli articoli non pubblicati in accesso aperto su riviste ibride gli autori  possono procedere immediatamente all'autoarchiviazione (Green OA) del post-print che rifletta le modifiche apportate durante il processo di peer review nel sito web personale  o nel nostro archivio istituzionale IRIS e  renderla disponibile in Open Access con un embargo di 12 mesi.
• Licenses: from 2025, CC BY 4.0 will be set as the default license; however, authors will also be able to publish under the CC BY NC ND 4.0 license. The choice of this second license entails the transfer of commercialization rights to the publisher; therefore, its use is not recommended.

For publication in Open Access, the publisher will require an affiliation check, which will be carried out by the Polytechnic's contacts.

Transformative agreement that includes both access to all content of the IEL database (IEEE Electronic Library) and the possibility for corresponding authors affiliated with the Politecnico to publish a limited number of articles in hybrid journals in Open Access mode, without costs to the author.

Validity Period: 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2027.

• Eligible Journals: exclusively hybrid journals until the annual national fund is exhausted. Journals that, during the term of the agreement, transition from the hybrid model to the full Open Access model (Gold OA) will retain their full “eligibility”
• Eligible Article Types: Original Paper, Review Paper, Original research
• Excluded Journals: Gold OA journals
• Corresponding author eligibility: only corresponding authors formally affiliated with the University on the date of article acceptance are eligible, provided that the institutional email address or the institution's name was used for submission.
• Esaurimento fondo: in caso di esaurimento dei fondi l’editore bloccherà immediatamente sulla piattaforma la possibilità di richiedere la copertura delle spese di pubblicazione Open Access. La nuova copertura annuale sarà attivata all'inizio dell'anno successivo. The agreement expired in June 2025. Negotiations for renewal are underway. During this transitional phase, the Publisher guarantees the possibility, for corresponding authors affiliated with the Polytechnic, to publish Open Access with coverage under the agreement currently being defined.

The agreement provides not only access to Springer content with the addition of Academic Journals, but also the possibility of publishing articles in Open Access until the vouchers are exhausted.

Eligible Journals for OA publication: the opportunity is limited to specific journals 
Eligible author: the corresponding author must be affiliated with the Polytechnic
Article types: original paper and reviews paper
Publication license: CC-BY
Exclusions: the journals Nature are not included in this agreement. 
Submission must be made using the Institution's formal name (Politecnico di Bari), from an institutional email address (poliba.it) or from the University's IP address (management of the publication workflow through the Springer platform).
For Open Access publication, the publisher will require an affiliation check, which will be carried out by the Polytechnic's Representatives.

Eligible Journals – Publisher website (agreement)

The agreement provides both reading access to the journals on the Wiley Online Library platform and the possibility for corresponding authors affiliated with the Polytechnic to publish Open Access, at no cost to the author, a limited number of articles in hybrid and gold journals.

La nuova copertura annuale sarà attivata all'inizio dell'anno successivo. • Corresponding author eligibility: corresponding author affiliated with Politecnico on the date the contribution is accepted. It should be noted that, in the case of articles published by multiple authors, only the author who submitted the article may be considered the corresponding author. Verification of affiliation is the responsibility of the University;
• Autoarchiviazione post-print (Green OA): authors may deposit the Author’s Accepted Manuscript (post-print) version of articles not covered by the contract cost or for which APCs have not been paid on their own website or in the institutional repository and make it freely accessible after a 12-month embargo;
• Fund exhaustion: in the event that the annual allocation is exhausted, the automatic approval system will be suspended and it will no longer be possible to request coverage of Open Access publication costs. The author may choose whether to publish in the traditional manner or to publish in Open Access by covering the costs themselves.
