Formerly DICAR, since September 2022 it has taken on the new name ArCoD. The Department combines research and teaching in the fields of architecture, construction, and design, promoting a unified and humanistic vision of design at all scales.

It was established in 2013 from the merger of the Department of Mechanical and Management Engineering (DIMeG) and the Department of Mathematics (DiM). It carries out research, education, and technology transfer activities in the areas of Mechanical Engineering, Management Engineering, and Mathematical Sciences.

Founded in 1995, it brings together researchers and faculty members engaged in intensive research activity in many fields. Today it represents academic excellence, both in the theoretical and experimental spheres, also thanks to collaboration agreements with numerous international research institutions.
