Sustainable Development

Our commitment to a sustainable campus and a university focused on sustainable development

Statute of the Polytechnic University of Bari - Art.1 «The Polytechnic University of Bari shares the values underlying the concept of sustainable development and is committed to taking concrete actions aimed at its realization in the fields of teaching, research, and the third mission, as well as in the management of its activities»

Sustainability is a central value for the Polytechnic University of Bari. The university considers environmental, social, and economic responsibility an integral part of its mission and promotes an approach that combines innovation, inclusion, and attention to the territory. Every choice, from teaching to research, from the management of facilities to the services offered, is aimed at ensuring the well-being of all citizens and communities, in respect of future generations.

The Polytechnic's commitment to sustainable development translates into widespread and daily actions: caring for the environment and resources, promoting responsible lifestyles, and spreading a culture of sustainability within the academic community. The campus becomes a living laboratory of good practices where students, staff, and faculty contribute to reducing environmental impact and building a fairer and more sustainable future.

This is a listening point for ideas and suggestions to improve our experience of a sustainable campus but also of social life in general.

Only constructive ideas and feasible suggestions will be considered, neglecting rhetorical arguments or vague criticisms for necessity.
Contributions must be signed and justified with short and effective phrases (max 250 characters), also allowing for private communication with the author.

Example of contributions

  • I would like to modify the cafeteria to have food from km.0
  • But why don't you collect rainwater from the roofs?
  • I miss a place to exercise and then relax with friends and colleagues within the campus.
  • Why is the campus anonymous and lacks characteristic elements of our land?
  • But weren't the 'balls of Saint Nicholas' three? Why didn't the artist use the third ball as well?
