Biographical Backgroud
Giulia Annalinda Neglia graduated in architecture at the Politecnico di Bari in July 1999; and got the title of PhD in Architectural Design for the Mediterranean Countries (XV cycle) in July 2003 with a thesis on Aleppo.
For her researches on the Mediterranean - Islamic cities and landscape she has received several scholarships from international and national research centres such as: Aga Khan Program for Islamic Architecture at MIT; DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst); Max van Berchem Foundation (Geneve); East-West Nexus / PROTA Institute (Boston-London-Amman); Politecnico di Bari.
She has published two monoghraphs on Islamic cities and landscape and more than 70 articles and essays in books, proceedings of international conferences and peer-reviewd journals.
From 2011 she is Assistant Professor at the Politecnico di Bari where she currently teaches Landscape Design and History of Islamic Architecture.
