Purpose/Description of Activities: 1. The Company does not pursue profit-making purposes, has a consortium purpose and therefore a mutualistic purpose, and aims to undertake initiatives suitable for the development, in Objective 1 Regions or in the areas referred to in Article 87 3a) of the EU Treaty, of a Technological Competence Centre in the thematic area of advanced biology. 2. The Company may carry out, purely by way of example and without the list being construed in any way as limiting the activities connected with the achievement of the Company's purpose, the following activities: a. scientific and technological information through the dissemination of: scientific and technological information, including information relating to the primary sources of knowledge concerning the thematic area of advanced biology, aimed at identifying technological solutions suited to the innovation needs of businesses, with particular reference to small and medium-sized enterprises; information relating to national and European technical regulations; information on procedures for obtaining trademarks and patents; information on regional, national and Community programmes, as well as on the related access procedures. b. technology transfer: identification of Technological Competence Centres and other specialised organisations outside the area capable of providing technologies suitable for solving the problems of assisted businesses, with particular reference to small and medium-sized enterprises; provision of services such as testing rooms, laboratories and other technical instruments and equipment; support for companies and assistance during the diagnosis and implementation phases of innovative choices, in order to ensure that the services acquired have the necessary level of customisation; identification of technological acceleration solutions capable of promoting the growth in size of businesses and the establishment of new businesses. c. research, with particular reference to the performance and management of industrial research and pre-competitive development activities in the field of advanced biology, in cooperation with private enterprises, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, Universities and Public Research Bodies. 4. The Company may also, on a non-prevalent basis and excluding the activities reserved under Law 02 January 1991 N.1, Legislative Decree 01 September 1993 N.385, Legislative Decree 23 July 1996 N.415, and Legislative Decree 24 February 1998 N.58, carry out all financial, commercial, industrial, movable and immovable transactions deemed useful or necessary for the achievement of the Company's purpose. 5. The Company may participate in public procurement procedures relating to the Company's purpose, promote new entrepreneurial activities of a high scientific and technological standard in the relevant sector, and establish courses and training scholarships in the highly specialised "Advanced Biology" sector in order to promote the acquisition of skills and professional expertise appropriate to the pursuit of the Company's objectives. 6. The Company may also participate in European, national and regional projects in its areas of competence. 7. In order to achieve its objectives, the Company may, among other things, make use of the incentives provided for by the legislation in force at national and international level.
