Purpose/Description of Activities: The Association is non-profit and pursues the following aims: a) to collect, interpret and disseminate significant data on new issues emerging in urban Italy and compare them with the international context; b) to document good practices in the field of urban governance and promote their dissemination; c) to carry out training and professional development activities capable of enhancing the planning and design skills of public administrations; d) to provide specialist assistance in the preparation of interpretative studies and surveys and in policy design; e) to develop and foster opportunities for debate on issues relating to urban policies; f) to develop dialogue and interaction with the stakeholders concerned: legislative authorities, government institutions, regional and local administrations, universities, economic and social operators, and citizens. In order to achieve its objectives, the Association: a) builds and maintains databases and provides data, information, bibliographies and documents on urban policies, experiences and case studies, and the work of similar institutions at international level; b) carries out analysis, study and research activities on its own initiative or on behalf of individual clients on matters relating to urban policies in their various forms; conducts monitoring activities concerning programmes or policies; develops activities for the conception, support and implementation of programmes and policies; develops research projects; c) organises professional development initiatives (conferences, seminars, guided tours, etc.) for its members and/or third parties; produces compilations of information and data for dissemination to the general public; carries out public dissemination activities and discussions of the research results produced by the various parties involved, subject to obtaining their consent; d) promotes and organises training activities relating to its founding purpose and addressed to all persons involved at the various levels in the public policies falling within the Centre's field of interest; e) establishes permanent collaborative relationships with Italian and foreign cultural and scientific organisations; f) promotes any other initiative suitable for achieving its aims. The Association intends to enhance the diverse expertise on urban issues represented among its Members, while avoiding competition with them, particularly with regard to the aims referred to in points c) and d) and the purpose referred to in point b). If the Association carries out activities on behalf of third parties using the resources and personnel of its Members, the relevant share of the funding or remuneration received shall be transferred to them through the execution of a specific agreement. The Association's activities may also be carried out for remuneration, although the distribution of profits among the Members is in any event prohibited. In order to achieve its aims, the Association, taking into account the specific expertise of its Members and of the members of its bodies, may assign tasks and activities to them or confer specific appointments upon them, subject to obtaining their consent.
