In the Saturday, July 18 episode of “Settegiorni”, the weekly program on Rai 1, a segment was devoted to renewable energy and, in particular, to wind power,
In the report, “Wind power: the wind is blowing in the south”, by Alberto Tristano, Prof. Silvano Vergura, Full Professor of “Photovoltaic Systems and Plant Diagnostics” at Poliba, within the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering, was interviewed.
Prof. Vergura, with a concise approach supported by data, presented an overview of wind power. The data on production in Europe, Italy, and Puglia made it possible to draw comparisons and look ahead to the future. Puglia – he said – is the queen of the wind, with 25% of all installed capacity in Italy. Of this 25%, 80% is in the Dauni Mountains.
