Please note! If you choose a course that is only taught in ITALIAN, a B2 Italian language certificate is mandatory. If you don’t have this certificate, you must pass an Italian language test.

ENGINEERING – ADMISSION TEST - 2nd STANDARD SESSION

Dates and Deadlines for the Second Standard Session

• Test dates: All TOLC-I tests taken at any university between February 1, 2024, and September 26, 2025, are valid.
• Registration dates for the competition on the Esse3 Portal of the Polytechnic University of Bari: from September 23, 2025, to September 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM (GMT+2).
• N.B. Only those wishing to enroll in the P-Tech program, offered exclusively at the Taranto campus, must use the admission test called TARANTO P-TECH COURSE LT17 COMPUTER AND AUTOMATION ENGINEERING (Second Standard Session) from their ESSE3 personal page. All other candidates for a three-year Engineering degree program must use the admission test labeled "SECOND STANDARD SESSION" only.
• NB: Registration for the competition on the Polytechnic University of Bari's ESSE3 portal is essential as it is necessary to select a degree program and consequently be included in the ranking list. Registration on the ESSE3 portal does NOT include the option to choose the test date, which must be selected exclusively on the CISIA portal and is not displayed on the ESSE3 portal.
• Registration dates for successful candidates ranked: from 12:01 AM on October 7, 2025, to 2:00 PM on October 10, 2025.
• Registration for eligible candidates who did not win: subject to availability of places and completion of the specific questionnaire made available as part of the competition registration process on Poliba Esse3, all those who are not admitted and who have expressed additional preferences beyond their first choice will be published with a further ranking that will reassign them according to the order of preference expressed based on the score obtained and, in the event of a tie, age. The questionnaire will not be made available for the TARANTO P-TECH COURSE LT17 COMPUTER AND AUTOMATION ENGINEERING (Second Standard Session) Admission Test – given the large number of places still available for this specific course.

ENGINEERING – ADMISSION TEST - STANDARD SESSION

If you’re a Non-EU candidate and you require a STUDY VISA, please follow the procedures listed by Italian Ministry for Universities and Research for Entry, Residency and Enrolment at Higher Education Institutions for Students Requiring VISAS for higher Education Courses in Italy (universitaly.it/studenti-stranieri) and submit your pre-enrollment request through Universitaly Platform (www.universitaly.it).

NOTICE: Students who are currently attending their fourth year of high school and pass the test must sign up for the competition via their esse3 page and enroll in the 2026/2027 Academic year.

Dates and deadlines (STANDARD SESSION)

• Test dates: 4 th and 5th of September 2025
• CISIA Portal test sign-up dates: until the max number of available places and under the conditions specified on www.cisiaonline.it at the following link https://testcisia.it/calendario.php?tolc=ingegneria
• Competition sign-up dates (ESSE3 Portal): from the 7th of August 2025 until the 28th of August 2025 at 14:00 (GMT+2).
• THOSE WHO WISH TO SIGN UP FOR THE P-TECH COURSE (WHICH IS ONLY DISTRIBUTED IN TARANTO) MUST SELECT “TARANTO PERCORSO P-TECH LT17 INGEGNERIA INFORMATICA E DELL’AUTOMAZIONE (Sessione Standard)” IN THEIR ESSE3 PAGE. Candidates who wish to enroll for any other Bachelor’s Degree course in Engineering must select the “SESSIONE STANDARD” tests.
• The ESSE3 sign up is essential, as it finalizes your choice of course and your insertion in the ranking. Students may not choose when to take the tests, as the date must be selected in the CISIA portal and is not mentioned in ESSE3. The TOLC-I test is exclusively distributed by the Politecnico, only in the TOLC@CASA mode, where students will take the test online, from their own homes. Student may also not choose other ways to take the test.
• Enrollment dates (for winning candidates with a suitable place in the ranking): from the 11th of September 2025 at 00:01 (GMT+2) until the 18th of September 2025 until 02:00 p.m(GMT+2).

TOLC I Rankings - FIRST ENGINEERING STANDARD SESSION
The TOLC I - FIRST ENGINEERING STANDARD SESSION ranking has been published. It is possible to consult the rankings on the dedicated page: https://www.poliba.it/it/didattica/graduatorie-aa-20252026
Those who are in admitted status can proceed with registration from 11.09.2025 to 18.09.2025 at 2 pm from their personal page esse3. By the same deadline it will also be necessary to pay the 136€ t1 that the system will generate after online registration.
For all those who are not admitted and who have expressed further preferences beyond the first choice one, a further ranking will be published which will reassign them according to the order of preference expressed based on the score obtained and in case of equal merit with the chronological age.

If you need a Study VISA for Italy (e.g. non-EU students living abroad) you must follow the Procedures issued by the Italian Ministry for Universities and Research for Entry, Residency and Enrolment at Higher Education Institutions for Students Requiring VISAS for higher Education Courses in Italy by submitting your pre-enrolment request through Universitaly Platform (www.universitaly.it). 

Please note! If you choose a Course TAUGHT IN ITALIAN LANGUAGE, you need to know Italian language (B2 Italian language proficiency is required). If You haven’t a valid Italian language B2 certificate you must overcome our Italian language test.

Please note: Those who are enrolled in the fourth year of high school and who will pass the test will have to register for the competition on Poliba Esse3 and subsequent enrolment in the A.Y. 2026/2027.
Indications for registration and enrolment will be published in February 2026.

• Registration deadlines to the competition (“Concorso”) on the Politecnico di Bari Esse3 portal: from 03.02.2025 to 25.06.2025
  Please note: Registration to the competition (“Concorso”) on the Politecnico di Bari Esse3 portal is necessary in order to choose the Course of study and consequent possibility of being included in the Ranking (Graduatoria). Registration to the competition (“Concorso”) on the Politecnico di Bari Esse3 portal doesn’t permit to choose the date of the test. The date of the test must be selected exclusively on the CISIA portal. TOLC-I can only be taken in TOLC@CASA mode from your home. Registration on the ESSE3 Portal does not give the possibility to choose a different method to take the test.
• Enrolment deadlines for winners placed in a useful position in the ranking: from 17.07.2025 (from 00:01 a.m.) to 24.07.2025 (until 02:00 p.m.)
• Enrolment deadlines for that candidates who are not in a useful position in the ranking (Ripescati) according to art.9 of the "Bando di Concorso" (Competition notice): from 28.07.2025 (from 00:01 a.m.) to 31.07.2025 (until 02:00 p.m.)
