Life SKEMA – Skill Ecosystem, Market-driven learning and Advanced training for green and smart installers

  • BACS (Building Automation Control Systems);

  • HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning;

  • Gestione intelligente dell’energia

Description

SALAM (Social, sustAinable and incLusive heAlth care systems in Med area) is a project co-funded by the Interreg NEXT MED Programme, aimed at promoting more equitable access to healthcare services and strengthening the resilience of health systems across the Mediterranean area.

Coordinated by the University Hospital Consortium Corporation Polyclinic of Bari and implemented together with partners from Italy, Spain, Lebanon and Jordan, the project brings together hospitals, universities and civil society organisations to respond in a concrete way to the challenges that still limit access to care in many territories, especially for the most vulnerable communities.

At the core of the initiative is the transfer and integration of the HELIS Infarct.NET telecardiology platform, already developed and validated at European level through the Interreg PHASE project (funded under the Interreg IPA CBC Italy-Albania-Montenegro 2014–2020 Programme), within two reference hospital hubs in Lebanon and Jordan. These hubs will be connected to mobile medical units in order to extend healthcare services also to remote and fragile areas.

Alongside the strengthening of telemedicine services, SALAM promotes training activities for healthcare professionals and caregivers, awareness-raising and community engagement initiatives. A central pillar of the project is represented by applied research and open innovation actions, structured within a Transnational Research Center that will serve as the methodological framework of the entire project. Within this collaborative environment, partner universities will work together to carry out research driven by the real healthcare needs emerging from the two hospital hubs. In this context, the Politecnico di Bari will actively contribute to the design of innovative biomedical solutions, with a specific focus on the development of flexible, user-friendly, low-cost and sustainable bio-devices, ensuring their accessibility and effective deployment in low-resource and vulnerable settings. This approach will foster cross-border knowledge exchange and co-development processes, in line with Open Innovation principles.

Overall, the project seeks to contribute to reducing inequalities in access to care and to supporting more inclusive, integrated and people-centred models of healthcare.

AEOLIX will develop a platform for connecting logistics information systems of different characteristics, intra- and cross-company, for immediate (real-time) exchange of information in support of logistics-related decisions. The ambition is to develop architecture for a distributed open system which will exchange information among key logistics actors (commercial companies as well as relevant authorities), enabling increased use and impact of such information in the value chain. During the project, logistics related business issues have been selected as use cases to be researched at different Living Labs to validate and demonstrate the benefits of the platform.

The principal aim of the proposed Network is to create and test methodologies for the application of optimization techniques in different design phases of civil structures by developing strong synergies among a multi- disciplinary team of academic experts from Greece, France, Cyprus, Canada, Turkey, Egypt & Jordan and SMEs from France & Greece. A first goal of the project is to exploit the use of shape and topology optimization techniques in computer aided architectural design. Moreover, the Network wants to exchange ideas, propose formulations that correspond to real-life applications and develop solutions for optimal multi-disciplinary architectural design.

ERN-Apulia targets to bring Apulian population closer to the research world and viceversa. During the Researchers’ Night events (not limited to the night but lasting for the whole day), we will invite the general public to our campus to take part in tours, initiatives and discussions. The aim is to unveil the figure of the researcher, often seen as an ivory tower pursuit. In a path constituted by several stands, our researchers will tell their stories and explain to the public how they work and what is the impact of their activity on everyone's daily lives. Hence, during the day, students from all levels will be invited to visit the laboratories and touch by hand experiments carried out by highly competitive teams working on fascinating and exciting international environments.

The Osmose project is a H2020 EU founded project answering the call for a ’Demonstration of system integration with smart transmission grid and storage technologies with increasing share of renewables’.
The project aims for the development of flexibilities which can be used for a better integration of RES. The approach chosen is global as it considers at the same time, the increased need of flexibilities in the system (mainly improved balance of supply and demand in electricity markets, provision of existing and future system services and allowance of a dynamic control of electricity flows) and the sources of flexibilities (RES, demand-response, grid and new storages). The chosen global approach addresses all system requirements to capture the synergies proposed by the different solutions in order to avoid stand-alone solutions that might be less efficient in terms of overall efficiency. For example a storage operator plans to install batteries in order to provide balancing services. By locating his solution in a network-constrained area, he could contribute at the same time to the management of congestion and by this reduce the costs for the society too.
